The A220 is an update on the classic A210 Mammoth Shirt. Featuring a concealed nylon hood, for use in emergencies when wind, snow & rain showers unexpectedly appear. The hood is very lightweight & packs away into the collar when not in use.
The fit has also been tweaked. The shoulders and sleeves now allow for a better range of movement, and it is wider in the body to allow for other layers. Please see the updated size guide.
The Mammoth is fibre-pile lining which is both rugged and warm for use in the harshest of conditions.
Two-directional zips running up the side of the garment allow for quick ventilation when the user requires. In addition the mammoth has side entry hand warmer-pockets and a vital document compartment which can hold maps, notepads, and other survival gear.
The Mammoth has seen action with the British navy, police dog handling units and various outdoor workers. It's incredibly versatile and can be worn as a mid-layer underneath a smock, or as a standalone outer garment.

Get one, or better yet, get two. Or more. This shirt will change your life for the better/warmer.
Purchased one of these last summer, in prep for the winter, as I’m a really keen angler and fish some quite wild places that are full of brambles, trees, mud, nettles, you name it!
Now I have treated this mammoth shirt appallingly, I haven’t looked after it one bit, I’ve torn it through brambles, been swimming in it (unintentionally in the middle of winter) it’s been stuffed into car boots, rucksacks, sleeping bags, I’ve slept out in it down to -5, and despite me abusing it so badly, it hasn’t even come close to letting me down, and it’s probably one of the most important bits of kit I own, if like you me you’re after rugged outdoor kit that (in my opinion) far surpasses other well know brands, then look no further, the customer service is impeccable as well!
Buy with 100% confidence!
I can see myself living in this. Will probably have to buy a non camo version
This is very warm. Been wearing this today with nothing else walking the dog was nice and toasty. Very well made piece of kit
Spent a night out in -8 degrees and this was used as a mid layer.
Activity levels were both dynamic and static and this garment handles both wonderfully, you can regulate your body temps easily with the side zippers if things get a bit too warm while being active. The hood and hand warmer pockets are a great feature. Collar sits nice and high to cover your neck.
I have a 102cm chest. Bought a Medium and there's a good amount of room inside as I intended. Could easily fit a thick sweater underneath. I also have long arms and the sleeves are perfect length. This fit great with outer layers. Movement was not restricted when pairing with a smock or other thermal outer layers.
Wonderful technical garment that can handle the Canadian North. I'll be living in it for the remainder of this winter.
Managed to get hold of the black multicam variant.
It's a great bit of kit.
Really warm but also having used it a few times seems pretty breathable.
I'd recommend getting a size bigger so it doesn't sit too snug. The extra space afforded by getting a bigger size allows you a reasonable amount of airflow through if you loosen the cuffs etc. and open the side zips to vent off if you get too warm.
Seems pretty quick to dry also.
Not been out in the lashing rain with it but if Arktis make the showerproof smock in the same colour and a big fit I'd probably get one just to throw over or a poncho in the driving rain simply because its rated water resistant and not waterproof.
Some may see that as a downside but I'd say it's a bonus because it makes it breathable. Nothing worse than a great jacket but after 5 minutes resemble boil in the bag veg wringing wet through inside.
Only criticism is the zips are a little stiff so I'd recommend a slight spray of oil or run some chap stick over the zips to loosen a little.
The inner pile comes very close and sometimes gets stuck so perhaps finish the inner layer half an inch or something shy from the edge with the zips.
Overall very pleased and a great bit of British manufacturing. Use the smock at work all the time and never been disappointed with quality.
Measurements in CM.
This garment has a classic "true to size" fit. If wearing armour or thick layers beneath, you will need to size up.
