PRODUCT DETAILS

The A220 is an update on the classic A210 Mammoth Shirt. Featuring a concealed nylon hood, for use in emergencies when wind, snow & rain showers unexpectedly appear. The hood is very lightweight & packs away into the collar when not in use.

The fit has also been tweaked. The shoulders and sleeves now allow for a better range of movement, and it is wider in the body to allow for other layers. Please see the updated size guide.

The Mammoth is fibre-pile lining which is both rugged and warm for use in the harshest of conditions.

Two-directional zips running up the side of the garment allow for quick ventilation when the user requires. In addition the mammoth has side entry hand warmer-pockets and a vital document compartment which can hold maps, notepads, and other survival gear.

The Mammoth has seen action with the British navy, police dog handling units and various outdoor workers. It's incredibly versatile and can be worn as a mid-layer underneath a smock, or as a standalone outer garment.

Mammoth shirt

Ordered online, product arrived promptly and well packaged: looks very well made, I’ve had a couple other similar items from other manufacturers that don’t even come close to the quality of this for similar money! My personal preference would have it a little longer at the back but like I said it’s a personal preference.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone who does a lot of lamping and sitting out,. It’s incredibly warm in it if you’re walking a long distance though.

Mammoth smock

Brought this to replace another pertex and pile garment from another manufacturer that is at least 30 years old . Not worn yet . But initial reaction. Bombproof, durable and comfortable, as I have other artkis smocks ordered a small. It is definitely big enough to wear several layers underneath it if needed. Only modification I can suggest is a method of cinching around waist or bottom of hem. To end more than happy with it

Arktis Mammoth Detailed Review

I bought my mammoth in prep for winter in case sizes run low. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test the garment out, but in terms of quality this is ridiculously good.
Definitely built more like a jacket than just a pullover, this item is heavy, thick and very very warm. The Sherpa lining is more fuzzy than fluffy, but with the zip done fully up and the cuffs strapped fully down, I honestly can't wait to test what temperatures it can face with just a t-shirt worn under.
In terms of size I didn't plan to layer this item (I don't think you need anything other than a merino base layer under it in only the most freezing temps), so I ordered a small at 5'8 75KG. Shoulders are slightly tight due to the raglan cut, but everything else - especially the sleeves - fit perfectly.
The hood - though thin - is of great coverage, fully adjustable and when cinched down is better than most - I'm very picky about hoods and thought this would be too flimsy but in the case of a shower it is highly functional.
The kangaroo pocket is positioned perfectly, and isn't deep enough to have you scavenging for items. All the zips are free flowing, don't get caught and all have pull tabs so they can be used with gloves.
The garment feels thick and the outer layer is fairly durable, feels like it can take a solid beating. Definitely more durable than that of winter puffers which snag very easily.
Overall this will be replacing my ME down jacket this winter, and I'll be happy to genuinely see just how well it fares as I plan to summit twice in late October. I do think from initial impressions, this jacket will easily hold off any chill and am very happy at the quality of the garment.

Runs Large.

Let me start by saying that Arktis gear is top notch. When I was reading the reviews about the mammoth I was under the impression that I should size up, but I honestly would recommend staying with your true size unless you want to rock it as almost like a warm poncho. I am aprx 170cm and about 65kg (5’8ft and about 140lbs) and I got the medium and I find it very roomy, the small would of been a nicer fit if you want to run it as a mid layer. I would recommend if you’re close to my dimension to get the small. It’s really warm and honestly I am impressed by the quality and design with my medium size I am only going to rock it as a jacket, because honestly it’s more of a jacket then a shirt. I love and will be getting another one in a smaller size. Also wanted to add that the sleeve are perfect size no need to worry there.

Awesome and love the pocket!

Probably my favorite piece of Arktis gear (so far). The kangaroo pouch/hand warmer is exactly the thing I want in a jacket. Allows me to wear mechanix (or similar) thin gloves and keep a hand warmer handy at the range or in the deer stand or turkey blind. (This jacket does have one turkey to its name for me!)

Size wise, I wear an XL normally, and I have long arms. The sleeves could be a touch longer and the shirt could be touch longer at the bottom.

The zippered sides for ventilation/access to other pockets is awesome as well!
