PRODUCT DETAILS

The Stowaway has been around for a long time, but we feel it deserves a little reintroduction. It was designed to be as light weight as possible with a very minimalistic design. The shirt snugly fits into a little pouch located at the back of the neck and is secured with a drawstring & toggle. This can be removed if being worn with chest rigs & packs.

It's small & lightweight enough to be thrown in a daypack, vehicle glove compartment or jacket pocket. You'll hardly notice it's there, until the weather gets rough and you need that extra layer.

The textile used is a light minirip nylon with a DWR finish, which is showerproof and highly breathable. The whole garment weighs under 200g (Based on size M).

      For active use in foul weather

      The Stowaway has become my go-to garment for running and biking in cold and wet conditions. The DWR coating effectively repels rain, keeping your base layers dry, while the breathable nylon allows your body heat to escape so you don’t get soaked in sweat. The tradeoff is that this shirt is water resistant, not waterproof. If you’re going to be standing around in the rain for a long time, a fully waterproof rain jacket will perform better. But for the optimal blend of weather protection and temperature management during activity, the Stowaway is the ticket for staying dry and comfortable.
      Note: If you’re short, you might find that these fit long. I’m 5’6” and the size S was pretty long on me. I wound up ordering a XS and gifting the other one to a friend.

      Great wind and rain shirt

      Packs up into its own softball sized(or smaller) pocket.
      As an XL I got the XL and it fits great and can still accommodate a med quilted vest and fleece layer under it. As stated by Arktis, size up only if big thick layers.

      Cannot beat a Stowaway Shirt from Arktis.

      Really nice camo pattern. Very versatile garments these. Great for Hill walks. Or fabulous as an extra standby spare layer in your pack. Great value in warmth and weatherproofness for such a minimal weight. Very stylish. Well made. Quality items. I've a few of these in different camouflage patterns now. Love them all.

      Please note that a standard Arktis jacket weighs approximately 2kg, so it is advisable to buy several items at the same time, in order to get the best value for shipping and to save on this cost in the future.
       
       
      Whilst we aim to get all of our orders within a few days but please allow up to a week for dispatch and sourcing of items. In rare cases, we list part made items which require us to finish the products.       PO Boxes are extremely difficult to send to. To avoid any delay a full address is preferred. We are able to send up to 2KG via Royal Mail worldwide, but anything above this weight we are unable to send. We will contact you for an alternate address.

      Orders placed in the UK, are required to pay VAT with each purchase. This cost is 20% of the purchase price, and will be included in the final price at checkout.
       
      Countries outside of the UK including the EU are exempt from this; however, purchases may be subject to VAT & customs charges upon arrival. A small administration fee is also usually charged by customs.
