PRODUCT DETAILS

Our main winter coat was devised for a civilian, rather than a military role. It has been in use for more than twenty years and has been tested in every shooting environment from Iceland to The Falklands. It attracts nothing but favourable comparison with every competitive product and contains many features. More important than the features, however, is the rugged reliability of the coat – it is large and strong, multi-layered, but still fairly light for what it actually does. The coat was built to withstand the worst that the weather can throw at you - and it does exactly that. Many of our coats last well over a decade, even with mainly winter usage. Remember, this is effectively three garments in one – as ever, copied by many and bettered by none. Check out the features, further down.

The coat started gaining professional use in surveillance roles. People hiding in bushes, at times, need to be there for days on end, making reliable performance essential in avoiding detection. The Arktis coat again did the job through many a tense exercise, in many a harsh winter. This is vintage, legendary, classic and top of the field. As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”, and you get absolute value for money on this higher-priced item.

Sizing Help

Due to the nature of the jacket and its quilted liner, they can feel quite big. If you prefer a snugger fit, it may be necessary to size down.

Superb Coat

I actually bought this coat towards the end of last year in readiness for the colder UK weather that was forecast. Well I must say this coat did not let me down. Incredibly warm and waterproof, it is like wearing a hug! Incredible delivery service along with customer service. Everything Arktis claim about this coat is 100% accurate. This will not disappoint.

Fantastic jacket, triple check size

I am by no means a slim guy. Not your caricature of an American but you can tell I have an opinion on beer and pizza. I wear a XL-XXLUS T Shirt to have hang and conceal a full size handgun when i reach up. It has some baggyness. I ordered a XL to accommodate the mass I have in comparison to the usual European. This was almost a mistake. I probably could have gone with a Large. The XL does allow for my plate carrier to go on but that wasn’t my intention with this jacket. My arms dont come out of the bottom but I did desire a real, quality coat for the real cold. In Kansas our average is 25f -4c so this may be overkill but I enjoy being outside. Definitely grabbing more from here to finish out a whole scalable ensemble. I appreciate the muted colors to not look to tactical. I’m not in the army anymore. But I like the utility.

Just Great!

Like a lot of users wrote before, this jacket is it!
It is perfectly warm in rough conditions with no possibility to jump or run around (fishing with a strong cold wind, -2 celsius and drizzling rain for 3,5 h). I was wearing a longsleeve ski underwear with a T-shirt under the jacket and it fits just perfect-warm and dry. The extra isolated seat, hidden in the back of the jacket is another clou if you're out for hunting waiting on the raised hite and sitting on the cold seat. If you wan't to go out with the dog -no prob, even perfect, too
The only thing I forgot, it is not suitable for longer hikes with tempetures over - 10 C and wearing it for different activities at a temperature range over 5 C is to warm too.
The size is 1/1 to the size chart and this is another aspect of the quality of Arktis wear, very good.
Of cause this is not a light weight but for it's use it's just right a suit of armor against the cold and rain!

Absolutely Brilliant

Fantastic bit of kit!

Had this for over a year now, the camo is as close as you’ll get to MTP so those serving this will be the one for you.

Very warm even without the thermal liner, would only use the liner at 5°c or lower otherwise you’ll get very hot very quickly with any sort of movement.

The hand warmer pockets (DS pockets) are perfectly convenient and are deep enough to fit your hand up to the jackets arm ends to ensure you’re covered from those brisk winds, rain and cold air.

Retaining straps in the lower body pockets are great for attaching ear defs, great size and design as well with them having a sort of shaped lip for better retention. The pockets are secured with two buttons and are very strong so no need to worry about loose items falling out.

The thermal liner is pretty easy to reattach along with the “seat” that comes on it.

In terms of sizing, I would go a size down from what you usually are. I’m 6ft 2” (189cm) and have a slim build, medium is a perfect fit for me so adjust your size choice off that if that helps.

TLDR:

PROS
———-
- great pockets
- convenient design
- secure storage
- very warm (even without liner)
- great in all environments
- perfect camo pattern for those serving in MTP
- head turner

CONS
- The coat is big, takes up a lot of room as warm/wet kit in a daysack if not the whole daysack.

Had to go a size smaller than usual but fits perfectly. Probably the warmest coat I’ve ever had. Only downsides are the lack of inside pocket on the liner and getting quite sweaty if you move around a lot due to how heavily insulated this coat is. However this is perfect for a freezing winter pub crawl or spending a whole day outside even if it drops below zero. The material feels pretty indestructible and it is 100% waterproof. Wore it on a day trip to Chernobyl and it didn’t absorb deadly amounts of radiation so that’s a bonus too.
