At its core, the E9 is defined by its internal harness and cummerbund system. Every time you don the vest, you will close the Velcro closure cummerbund, the elasticated sections keeping the vest snug around your torso. Close the front zip and waist buckle, and you are good to go. If you have changed layers underneath, no worries. Once the back height adjustment is set, all other adjustments are easily made when worn, allowing for fine-tuning corrections for the perfect fit. The vest's internal harness system is closed off when not being adjusted, keeping the vest's outer MOLLE free from loose straps or webbing.
It is designed to be truly unisex; the E9 underwent extensive wearer trialling among female officers during development to ensure comfort and utility for women and men. The MOLLE system allows for even more individual adjustment on weight distribution.
