THE WEEKENDER IN GABARDINE: New designs in a classic fabric
The core concept of the Weekender Collection is simple, the Arktis quality you expect and enjoy at work in a style and cut for downtime activities. We believe you should have the gear to complete every mission you face, whatever day of the week. This limited-edition Gabardine series of the Weekender Collection combines new and existing designs in a classic tightly woven cotton fabric with a water-resistant coating. This fabric has a long and storied history, originally used in military trench coats due to its excellent wind resistance and durability. For decades, gabardine was a staple in military-issued uniforms, valued for its lightweight comfort and breathable qualities, making it a go-to fabric in harsh environments. Over time, it became particularly popular in smocks, where its soft drape and ability to block wind made it the ideal choice for outdoor and military use. Even though synthetic Ripstop fabrics have gained dominance in recent years, especially in the uniform market, gabardine has retained a strong following for its comfort and wind resistance. For many missions, the soft, well-fitted drape of gabardine still outperforms the rigidity of ripstop fabrics. With this in mind, we combined it into the Weekender Range, designed to offer well-fitting, comfortable garments that combine function, comfort, and the lasting durability that Arktis is known for.

VISTA PATTERN
Building on the widespread adoption of patterns such as Multicam, MTP and OCP, VISTA was developed as a pattern suitable for use alongside these common designs. With a carefully balanced palette and emphasis on naturally occurring shapes being blended with each other, VISTA is hugely versatile and suitable for a range of environments and the transitions in between.
