These trousers are the business. I was advised to get a pair by a colleague, and I am glad I did. I am short-legged, 38 waist, and was a bit dubious as all Arktis had in stock were regular leg, and taking into account the cost, I didn’t want to have to send them back. Nevertheless, I took a gamble and bought a pair. They were a perfect fit, they are well made, and have flex in the crutch and waistband, so manoeuvring in CQB is a doddle, and they haven’t got that ‘saggy’ feeling in those areas. There is an abundance of stowage with deep, accessible pockets. I had quite heavy and bulky kit spread over the pockets, and the material didn’t sag or mis-shape. Halfway through the exercise, it absolutely pissed down and got soaked, but the trousers didn’t become waterlogged or heavy and surprisingly dried off pretty quickly. They are well worth the price, especially if you use them for their design intent. I especially liked the leg Velcro straps behind the knee and calf and ankles. The ankle straps allowed me to take up any extra length. Additionally, this allows you to utilise the pockets without that leg slapping you get when carrying magazines or bulky items, etc. The topography we were working on was pretty muddy in places, and the knee areas were covered in grass and mud stains by the end of the exercise , but I chucked them in the washing machine, and they come up like new. I went down pretty hard on concrete and tarmac at certain points of the day, and there was no sign of wear or pulling of the material. One thing I would recommend is the softer rubber knee pad rather than the hard plastic ones I bought at the same time as the trousers. Either wear a tubular bandage over your knee as the plastic tends to rub against your knee when you are walking/running. Exceeded my expectations and will be looking to purchase again in the future
