A212 Reinforced SWAT Shirt - Belgian Jigsaw

This shirt is exactly what I expected and needed it to be.
I work on the deck of a boat around Shetland and needed a fleece lined thin shirt that could withstand abrasion to wear over my base layers but under a boilersuit and this has proven to be exactly what I wanted. Day after it arrived it was -2*c with 50 knot winds and a good fall of snow, worn with L1 & L2 base layers from Finland (Arktis you need to start making some merino base layers!) and oil skins over the top I was absolutely toasty. The minirip is great and thin while the thicker material is exactly where you want it to be to avoid abrasion. I likely wouldn't wear this against skin as the seam around the chest is noticeable, but with at least a tshirt you wont feel it. I've not worn this as an outer layer yet as I prefer thicker materials because of all the sea water and salt but this feels windproof.

All in all this is a wonderful shirt, I've never owned anything that is this durable, this thin and this warm all at the same time. Plenty of alternatives if you only care about 2 corners of that triangle but this is perfectly in the middle of all 3.

Well made and worked well on a recent trip where it was windy with some light rain. Drys fast and keeps you warm, with the large zips making it easy to wear.

The shirt is well thought out. The sleeves are wide enough for me to wear gloves underneath. The collar is slightly higher at the neck and therefore fits perfectly like a scarf. Overall it fits like a second skin.

I can only say a positive response about this product. This is my second A212, the first I gave to my friend. He told me it was the best thing he had dressed in his professional career. I want to note that some things that are produced in Romania differ in the quality of sewing. This is worth paying attention to.

Can be outer or mid layer. Mini rip is wind proof, waterproof. It is like a silnylon ripstop. Not quite as breathable as I would like for use in very cardio movements but the ample side zips and long neck zip still don’t cause this garment to be overly sweaty even in the damp temperate rainforest. The garment can be quickly buttoned down and hand warmers extended for warmth in a long stop.
